NEFF, Dr. George W., a Representative from Fayette County; born, December 19, 1845, in Masontown, Fayette County, Pa.; graduated, Waynesburg College; M.D., Jefferson Medical College (now Sidney Kimmel Medical College), 1870; sergeant, Company H, 182nd Regiment, 21st Pennsylvania Voluntary Cavalry (1864-1865, Civil War); surgeon major, 10th Regiment, Pennsylvania National Guard (1890-1898, Spanish-American War); physician; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1887 and 1889 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1891 term; gubernatorial appointee, Perry Memorial Commission; appointed, trustee, Cottage State Hospital; died, December 16, 1930 in Uniontown, Fayette County, Pennsylvania; Interred, Oak Grove Cemetery, Uniontown, Fayette County, Pennsylvania.
