CLAY, Antony Alexander, a Representative from Elk County; born, February 17, 1839 in Vienna, Austria; first lieutenant, Company K, 58th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1862-1865, Civil War); lumberman;  farmer; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representative for the 1887 and 1889 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1890); died, February 4, 1906 in Riverton, Burlington County, New Jersey; interred, Laurel Hill Cemetery, Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.
