CAFFREY, Patrick F., a Representative from Lackawanna and Luzerne Counties; born, March 17, 1860 in County Mayo, Ireland; attended, Millersville State Normal School (now Millersville University of Pennsylvania); coal miner; teacher; principal; elected, assessor, Hanover Township (1883); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1884); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1886 and 1888; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1890); elected, delegate, Democratic State Convention (1890, 1896); appointed, assistant executive clerk, Pennsylvania Office of the Governor (1891-1895); appointed, justice of the peace, Wilkes-Barre (1896-1897); principal, Preston School of Hanover Township; died, October 10, 1944 in Sugar Notch, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania; interred, Saint Charles Cemetery, Sugar Notch, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.
