WOODMANSEE, James Edmond, a Representative from Wayne County; born, May 4, 1836 in Buckingham, Wayne County, Pa.; second lieutenant, Company F, 45th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1861-1862, Civil War); private, Company F, 50th Regiment, New York Engineers (1864-1865, Civil War); farmer; engaged, lumber business; engaged, mercantile business; elected, justice of the peace; appointed, assistant marshal, United States Census Bureau (1870); elected, treasurer, Wayne County (1870-1876); president, Wayne Chemical Company; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1888 and 1890; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1892); postmaster, United States Postal Service, Lake Como, Pa. (1899-1905); died, June 21, 1915 in Buckingham, Wayne County, Pennsylvania; interred in Hancock, Delaware County, New York.
