Program; captain, United States Army Reserve (1949-1951 and 1953-1961); United States Army, Corps of Engineers (1951-1953, Korean War); registered civil engineer, Upper Moreland Township and the Upper Moreland-Hatboro Sewer Authority; precinct committee member; Montgomery County Republican Speakers Bureau (1960); president, George B. Mebus Inc., consulting engineers; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1965 term and served 6 consecutive terms thereafter; appointed, Local Government Commission (1973-1978); not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1979 term; elected, Chief Clerk, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1979-1980); Special Assistant to the Majority Leader, Republican Caucus, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1981); Deputy Secretary for Public Works, Pennsylvania Department of General Services (1983); appointed, Pennsylvania Board of Claims (1983-1986); died, January 12, 1990 in Hershey, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.
