HOSACK, Dr. William, a Representative from Indiana County; born, February 10, 1843 in Black Lick Township, Indiana County, Pa.; graduated, Glad Run Academy, 1869; M.D., Jefferson Medical College (now Sidney Kimmel Medical College), 1874; private, Company I, 40th Regiment, 11th Pennsylvania Volunteer Reserves (1861-1865, Civil War; prisoner of war, 1864-1865); school teacher; physician; elected, school board, Indiana, Pa. (12 years); secretary, United States Examining Surgeons Boards for Pensions, Indiana, Pa. (1883-1892); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1893 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1895 term; died, February 6, 1927 in Indiana, Indiana County, Pennsylvania; interred, Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana, Indiana County, Pennsylvania.
