Budd, a Representative from Crawford County; born, November 21, 1939 in St. Charles, St. Charles County, Mo.; graduated, Townville High School; attended, Thiel College; A.B., economics, Allegheny College, 1961; M.A., education and political science, Allegheny College, 1963; teacher and assistant football coach, Cambridge Springs High School; deputy game protector, Pennsylvania State Game Commission (1961-1964); director, Crawford County Young Republicans; Crawford County Community Ambassador to Poland (1963); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1964, 1966 and 1968; elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1971-January, 20, 1981); appointed, Pennsylvania Commission on Interstate Cooperation (1977-1978); elected, Pennsylvania State Treasurer (1981-1987); gubernatorial appointee, Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency (1981-1986); gubernatorial appointee, board, Public School Employees’ Retirement System (1981-1986); gubernatorial appointee, Pennsylvania Municipal Retirement Board (1981-1986); gubernatorial appointee, board, State Employees’ Retirement System (1981-1986); gubernatorial appointee, Pennsylvania Higher Educational Facilities Authority (1981-1986); gubernatorial appointee, State Public School Building Authority (1981-1986); died while in office, January 22, 1987, in Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania; interred, Blooming Valley Cemetery, Blooming Valley, Crawford County, Pennsylvania.
