TALBOT, David Smith, a Representative from Chester County; born, November 19, 1841 in Honey Brook Township, Chester County, Pa.; private, Company F, 42nd Regiment, “Bucktails,” Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1863, Civil War); teacher; lawyer (1870-1915); appointed, delegate, Pennsylvania Republican Convention (1885); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1888, 1890, 1892, and 1894; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1896); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania State Senate (1891); census supervisor, second census district of Pennsylvania, United States Census Bureau (1900); died, March 6, 1915 in Norristown, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania; interred, Saint Mark’s Episcopal Church Cemetery, Honey Brook, Chester County, Pennsylvania.
