BELL, John Calvin, a Representative from Mercer County; born, January 29, 1843 in Shenango Township, Mercer County, Pa.; attended, Westminster College; teacher (6 years); farmer; vender of road and farm machinery; justice of the peace; elected, delegate, Congressional Convention (1890); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1896; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1898); died: February 28, 1912 in Shenango Township, Mercer County, Pennsylvania; interred: Neshannock Presbyterian Cemetery, New Wilmington, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania.
