POLITE, Roosevelt I., a Representative from Montgomery County; born in Rippatone, Italy, September 4, 1914; graduated, West Chester High School; attended, Malvern Preparatory School; attended, West Chester State College (now West Chester University of Pennsylvania); attended, The Pennsylvania State University, Evening School; attended, Fordham University Law School; elected, justice of the peace (12 years); branch chairman, Red Cross, North Penn Hospital; president, Hatfield Joint School Authority; secretary, Joint School Authority, North Penn School District; president and owner, Dexter-Wayne Co.; director of purchasing, Brooks Instrument Division, Emerson Electric Company; member, Hatfield Republican Committee (10 years); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1972, 1974, 1976 and 1978; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1980); died, March 14, 1981 in Hatfield, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania; interred, Greenlawn Cemetery, Lansdale, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
