MULLEN, Martin P., a Representative from Philadelphia County; born in the city of Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa., July 29, 1921; graduated, West Philadelphia Catholic High School, 1939; attended, Washington University; certificate of Professional Business Administration, Wharton School of Business and Finance, University of Pennsylvania, 1949; attended, Brooklyn Law School; LL.B., Temple University Law School, 1952; sergeant, Air Corps, United States Army (1942-1946, World War II); partner, Mullen and Pazulski; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives’ 189th District for the 1955 session and reelected for 12 non-consecutive terms thereafter; elected, Democratic Appropriations Chair (1965-1972); appointed, Select Committee on Three Mile Island (1979); appointed, Pennsylvania Commission on Interstate Cooperation (1979-1980); unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House to the 191st District (1982); unsuccessful campaign, Governor of Pennsylvania (1974); legal counsel, John Wanamaker Department Store; died, February 26, 1996 in the city of Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon, Delaware County, Pennsylvania.
