KEIPER, Edward Smith, a Representative from Dauphin County; born, May 11, 1856 in Londonderry Township, Dauphin County, Pa.; attended, Millersville State Normal School (now Millersville University of Pennsylvania); farmer; teacher (4 years); elected, school director (9 years); organized, Londonderry Mutual Live Stock Insurance Company; cattle stock raiser; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1896 and 1898; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1900); chief clerk to the commissioners, Dauphin County (1900-1906); elected, jail warden, Dauphin County (1906-1909); died, July 17, 1931 in Middletown, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania; interred, Middletown Cemetery, Middletown, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.
