MANNING, Henry, “Harry,” a Representative from Cumberland County; born, October 29, 1834 in Middletown, Dauphin County, Pa.; private, Company A, 201st Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1864-1865, Civil War); engaged in milling; engaged in grain and coal industries; elected, delegate, State Democratic Convention (1880); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat in 1896 and 1898; died while in office, January 27, 1899 in Newville, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania; interred, Big Spring Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Newville, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania.
