Eugene Beauharnois Hawley born June 26, 1839, Franklin Township, Delaware County, New York; son of Alonzo and Betsey Maria Green Hawley; Delaware Literary Institute; read law, admitted, Luzerne County bar; moved, Montrose, Susquehanna County, 1869; married, Mary Frances Hayden, 1869; principal, New Milford Academy, nine years; editor, The Democrat (Montrose, Pennsylvania), 1876-1878; elected, Democrat, Pennsylvania State Senate, 1877-1878; died, March 29, 1886 (aged 49), Montrose, Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania; interment, New Milford Cemetery, New Milford, Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania.
