Born 1819, Harford, Pa., son of Dr. Joseph B. Streeter of Swanzey, N.H.; educated at Harford Academy and the Clinton, New York Liberal Institute; read law with Geo. W. Woodward (Wilkes Barre) and Davis Dimock (Montrose); admitted to Susquehanna bar, 1841; district attorney, 1843-1847; state Senate, 1848-1850; solicitor U.S. Treasury Dept., 1853-1857; joined Republican Party after repeal of the Missouri Comp.; appted. President Judge of the 13th Dist. By Gov. Curtin to replace Judge Mercur; elected same for another full term; President Judge of Susquehanna, 1875-1885; resigned bench, Aug. 20, 1877; passed away August 19, 1877.
