Gilbert Mason Owlett, born June 13, 1892, Wellsboro, Tioga County, Pennsylvania; son of Edward Howland and Ida Wells Owlett; married, Sue Berkey, 1918, children, Ann Owlett Wilcox, Edward Howland Owlett; attorney; vice-president, Tioga County Bell Telephone Company, Tioga Water Works Company; secretary, director, Highland Milk Condensing Company; director, Tioga Savings and Trust Company, General Drop Forge Company of Buffalo; chair, Tioga County Republican Party, 1928-1932; elected, Republican, Pennsylvania State Senate 25th District, 1933-1940; member, Republican National Committee from Pennsylvania, 1936-1940; delegate, Republican National Convention from Pennsylvania, 1940, 1944, 1948, 1952, 1956. died January 24, 1957 (aged 64), Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interment, Wellsboro Cemetery, Wellsboro, Tioga County, Pennsylvania.

Early Career:

G. Mason Owlett formed the law firm of Crichton and Owlett, later to become Owlett, Cox, Wilcox and Owlett, and practiced law with Edward H. Owlett until 1957.
