Frank R Brunner
Born in Greshville, Berks County, January 24, 1835, the son of Samuel and Mariah (Reigner), the senator attended district schools; Boyertown Select School, and the Union Seminary of New Berlin, Union County. He later enrolled at Jefferson Medical School of Philadelphia (1861) and graduated as a physician. He served on the Berks County School Board, and as its secretary for 18 years. Brunner married Hinrietta Boyer in 1861. Dr. Brunner was killed in the tragic Rhoads Opera House fire of Boyertown, January 13, 1908, in which 170 people burned to death.
