KOLTER, Joseph Paul, a Representative from Beaver County; born, September 3, 1926 in McDonald, Trumbull County, Oh.; graduated, New Brighton High School, 1944; B.S., Geneva College, 1950; attended, Pittsburgh University; attended, Duquesne University; served, Air Corps, United States Army (1945-1946, World War II); accountant; teacher; operator, roller-skating rink; elected, council, New Brighton (1961-1964); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1968; reelected to serve 6 more consecutive terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1982); elected, United States Congress (1983-1993); unsuccessful campaign for reelection to Congress (1992); died, September 8, 2019 in Hershey, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania; interred, Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Rochester, Beaver County, Pennsylvania.
