Rowland B. Mahany was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, November 2, 1904, the son of Walter R. and Annette (Baldwin) Mahany; graduated from Meadville High School; Allegheny College, 1926 (AB), and Dickinson Law School, 1931 (LLB); attorney; Titusville City Solicitor, 1936-1956; state House of Representatives, 1943-1947; state Senator, 1947-1958; and 1963-1968; Senate Majority Leader, 1953-1958; city chair, Titusville Republican Party; Crawford County Republican Executive Committee, 1934; member of all Crawford County and state courts; Dir. Titusville Trust Co. and Titusville Dairy Company. The Hon. Rowland Mahany died in Fort Myers, Florida, July 2, 2000. He married Mabel E. Crouch.
