FRYER, Lester K., a Representative from Berks County; born in Colebrookdale Township, Berks County, Pa., August 19, 1919; graduated, Boyertown High School, 1937; attended, Army Finance School (Fort Harrison, In.), 1942; served, United States Army (1942-1945, World War II); owner, Fryer Beverages (1948-1974); school director, Colebrookdale Township (1954-1957); school director, Boyertown Borough (1958-1963); president, Boyertown Democratic Club; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to the 1963 term and served 11 more consecutive terms; appointed, Local Government Commission (1969-1970, 1975-1986; chair, 1983-1986); appointed, Select Committee to Investigate the Department of Aging's Directive #83-12 (1983-1984); not a candidate for reelection to the House (1986); died, May 3, 1990 in Hershey, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania; interred, Union Cemetery, Boyertown, Berks County, Pennsylvania.
