Senator Kury was born on October 15, 1936, the son of Barney and Helen C. Witkowski Kury; graduated from Sunbury High School, 1954; Trinity College, B.A. 1958; University of Pennsylvania Law School, 1961; Army enlisted and reserve officer veteran; member of Kury and Kury Law firm; county and national bar associations; member of the Polish National Alliance; former staff assistant to Gov. George M. Leader; former deputy attorney general of the Commonwealth; assistant to U.S. Rep. George M. Rhodes; state co-chair Students for Kennedy-Johnson, 1960; state House of Representatives, 1966-1972; state Senator, 1973-1980; married Elizabeth Heazlett.
