Welfare Rights Organization, 1967-68; founder, Phil. Citizens in Action; bd. Mem., Pa. Minority Bus. Dev. Auth.; Phl. Chpt., Batl. Pol. Congress of Black Women; Allegheny Women Foundation; Long Term Care Council; Pa. Trauma Systems Foundation; Children’s Health Adv. Cncl.; co-chair, Coalition of Concerned Citizens; mem., Pa. Leg. Black Caucus; mem., M.L. King Cntr. For Social Change; National Political Congress of Black Women; first black woman elected to the Senate of Pennsylvania, Nov. 1984.  Md. James H.
