J Bayard Henry
Born in Germantown Philadelphia January 18, 1857, the son of Thomas Charlton Henry and May Elizabeth Jackson, J. Bayard Henry received his education in Philadelphia schools, graduating from Princeton College in 1876. He read law with George Junkin Esq.; pursued a partnership with Lawrence Lewis, later teaming with attorney and US Senator George Wharton Pepper. A member of the Philadelphia Anti-Quay Republican faction, Bayard served one four-year term in the Senate of Pennsylvania. He was a Trustee of Princeton (University) and of the First Presbyterian Church of Philadelphia. He was the nephew of Philadelphia Mayor Alexander Henry. The Senator married Mary E. McCorkle. He died in 1926.
