Born on November 17, 1880, Concord, Massachusetts the son of US Naval officer Charles H. and Mary A. (Hobson) Bartlett, Charles Bartlett was educated in public schools; moved to Easton to pursue business interests, worked as a secretary and treasurer for several manufacturing firms, 1906-1933; became a sales agent for other manufacturers; member Pennsylvania National Guard, ret. Major in Coast Artillery; served in Rainbow Division, WWI, 1917-1919, 18 mos. Served in the American Expeditionary Force, commanding Co. A, 149th Machine Gun Battalion; President of Wilson Borough for four years; nine years, Borough Treasurer; and author of Rainbow Memories. He served one term in the state Senate, 1939-1942, and also Senate Librarian. Charles married Mildred E. Richards. He died on March 18, 1948.
