Born December 20, 1916, Philadelphia, the son of Wilmot and Lillie F. (Bains) Fleming, Senator Fleming graduated from Cheltenham Twp. High School, the Wharton School, earning a four-year scholarship at Penn; pursued manufacturing as a partner in Wilmot Fleming Engineering Co.; president of Jenkintown Rotary; trustee Beaver College; trustee and elder at Grace Presbyterian Church; Y.M.C.A. Board of Managers; Alumni Trustee of Wharton School Alumni Assoc.; Jenkintown Board of School Directors (president six of nine years); Board of Directors Industrial Valley Bank and Trust Co.; and married E. Pauline Barnard. Wilmot was elected to the state House of Representatives, serving 1962-1964, and served in the state Senate 1964 until his death while seated, May 20, 1978.
