William Livingston Erwin
Born February 12, 1760, in Ballynedrentich, Killead Parish, County Antrim, Ireland, William Livingston Erwin was the older half-brother of Senator John Erwin, and the son of Col. Arthur Erwin* and first wife Mary Scott. He settled in Tinicum, Bucks County, served as a Captain in the Revolutionary War, 3rd Battalion, First Regiment of Foot; was commissioned Captain in the First Regiment of Foot in the Continental service May 14, 1781. Thirty years later he represented Bucks county for several terms in the State senate. He married, in 1782, Achsah, daughter of Dr. John and Rachel (Robinson) Rockhill, of Hunterdon County, New Jersey. The senator died at Erwinna, June 16, 1836, age 80.
