James Enue, Jr
From the family of County Antrim Ireland, James Enue Jr. was born on May 28, 1806, Philadelphia, the son of James Sr. and Anna Rice (Rees, Rhys) Enue. His father, a Roman Catholic, was rebuked by his church and became a major patron of Mt. Zion Christian Church by 1809. James Jr. was afforded a good education became a delegate to Pennsylvania’s first Democratic State Convention, 1832, Philadelphia; a member of the state Senate, 1844-1845; and a delegate to the Philadelphia state Democratic nominating convention in 1848. James Enue Jr. died in Philadelphia, 1853.
