Born in Allegheny City, Pa., June 15, 1865, the son of Leopold and Matilda Loefler Einstein, Morris was educated in public schools; pursued the drug business; in 1900 organized the Pennsylvania Light and Power Co., served as general manager until its merger with the Philadelphia Light and Power Co.; was president of the Mutual Ice and Ice-cream Co.; elected to Select Council of Allegheny County, serving 20 years as chair of Twenty-fifth Ward Republican organization of Pittsburgh. Morris was elected to the state Senate in 1918, serving from 1919 through 1934; delegate to numerous conventions and trustee of the Pittsburgh College of Pharmacy. He was a member of Rodef Shalom Congregation, Pittsburgh, where he died on June 12, 1937.
