Of Munhall, Allegheny County, Senator Fremont was born on September 11, 1903, the son of Robert Brierly and Margaret (Easton) Cox; earned A.B., M.A., and LL. B. degrees from Bucknell University, Washington and Lee University, University of Pittsburgh, and Pittsburgh Law School. Served as deputy Clerk of Courts, Allegheny County and practicing attorney; elected to state Senate, Nov. 1940, and November 1944; resigned from office, Dec. 31, 1945. He married Mary Louise Rinaman and died November 1980, Homestead, Pennsylvania.
