Wallace James Barnes, born August 16, 1861, Beach Lake, Wayne County, Pennsylvania; son of Charles and Grace Marshall Barnes; public School education; Chill Seminary, New York; teacher, Wayne County public school system; married, Elizabeth Grace Oliver, 1884, children, Earl O. Barnes, Olin James Barnes, Marcia Pauline Barnes, Anna Margaret Barnes, Jennie B. Barnes Shaw, Ruth Barnes Fairbanks, Cyrus Wallace Barnes; engaged, saw mill lumber business, 1910; elected, Wayne County prothonotary; clerk of the courts of Wayne County, tax collector, justice of the peace, 1911- resigned this office, December 1, 1918, to assume the duties of State Senator; elected, Republican, Pennsylvania State Senate, 1919-1922; appointed, Governor Gifford Pinchot, State Bridge Commission, 1931; died, November 24, 1945 (aged 84), Beach Lake, Wayne County, Pennsylvania interment, Beach Lake Cemetery, Beach Lake, Wayne County, Pennsylvania.
