Hamilton B Barnes
Biography

Born 1821, Hamilton was the son of David and Sarah Proctor Barnes, of Connellsville, Pennsylvania; he married Harriett Philippi. Elected to the state Senate in 1851, he served a single three-year term as a Whig, eventually becoming a leader in the Republican Party. He later taught in the Disciples’ or “Campbellite” Church. He died on November 25, 1901; interred in Union Cemetery, New Centerville, Somerset County, Pennsylvania.
