MAYERNIK, David J., a Representative from Allegheny County; born in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pa., June 15, 1952; A.A., Community College of Allegheny County, 1972; B.A., University of Pittsburgh, 1974; M.P.A., University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public and International Affairs, 1981; J.D., Widener University School of Law, 1993; elected, council (2 terms), West View Borough; law enforcement officer; National Rifle Association Police Firearms Instructor; instructor, Allegheny County Police Academy; president, Young Adult Democrats, Allegheny County; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat in 1982; served 9 consecutive terms thereafter; appointed, Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (1989-1990); not a candidate for reelection to the House (2002); attorney, business and government affairs departments, Eckert Seamans; adjunct professor, University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public and International Affairs.
