Anshutz family notes:  Melchior Rahm was a son of Conrad and Maria (Weiser) Rahm, born Feb. 13, 1762; and died on October 31, 1820, Harrisburg. Of  Derry Township, Dauphin County; brother-in-law of fellow senator Christian Orth; veteran of the Revolution: 2nd Lt., 1777, 6th Bat., Lancaster County Militia; Quartermaster, War of 1812; sheriff of Dauphin County, 1804; proprietor of the Franklin House on walnut Street, Harrisburg; Landlord of the Pennsylvania Inn. Married Sarah Knapp.
