Early Life: 

Horace Royer born November 21, 1829, Providence, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania; son of Joseph and Elizabeth Dewees; elected, Republican, Pennsylvania State Senate, 1865-1867; postmaster, Collegeville, 1870-1872; married, Christiana Boughman Todd, three children, Gertrude Royer, Francis P. Royer, Mary Royer; died, January 21, 1878, pneumonia, Pottstown, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania; interment, Pottstown Cemetery Pottstown, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. 

Early Career:

Postmaster, Collegeville, Pennsylvania, 1870-1872. 

Pennsylvania Politics:

Elected, Republican, Pennsylvania State Senate, 5th District, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery Counties, 1865-1867; committee assignments, Accounts, Agriculture and Domestic Manufacturing, Canals and Inland Navigation, Corporations, Public Printing. 

Legacy: 

Charlotte B. Royer (typhoid pneumonia) it is a singular sad coincidence that Mr. and Mrs. Royer died on the same day and just one week apart.
