Born June 30, 1900, the son of John G. and Manora S. Geltz. Attorney. Grundy Republican.
Senate Majority leader, 1941, 1942; beaten by Duff-Fine moderate Republicans in 1950, who defeated old-line Grundy reactionaries. Duff-Fine candidate Robert Fleming defeated Geltz; Chair of Senate Finance Committee, 1949; fought Gov. Lawrence’s bid to orchestrate a government takeover of state hospitals.
