WHITTEN, Norman A., a Representative from Allegheny County; born in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pa., October 28, 1868; graduated, public schools of Pittsburgh; attended, Western University of Pennsylvania (University of Pittsburgh); employed, steel industry (25 years); consulting engineer, R. W. Hunt and Company; elected, council, Munhall Borough (13 years); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1914; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1916); elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1916-1922); died while in office of the Senate, March 17, 1922 in Munhall, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; interred, Allegheny Cemetery, Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
