BURNS, Edward Francis, Jr., a Representative from Bucks County; born in Branchdale, Schuylkill County, Pa., January 28, 1931; graduated, Northeast Catholic High School, 1948; B.A., history, LaSalle College,1952; M.Ed., Temple University, 1957; served, United States Naval Reserves (1950-1991, Korean War); teacher (20 years); elected, Bensalem Township School Board (1971-1974); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1972; reelected to serve 8 more consecutive terms, not a candidate for reelection to the House (1990); elected, mayor, Bensalem (1989-1993); died, January 10, 2019 in Audubon, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania; interred, Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, Langhorne, Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
