VOLTZ, William Harmon, a Representative from Philadelphia County; born in Cleveland, Cuyohoga County, Oh., December 2, 1858; graduated, University of Michigan, 1879; lawyer; sports reporter, Cleveland Voice (1876-1877), Leader (1877-1881), Herald (1884-1885), Philadelphia Press (1886-1888) newspapers; manager, Northwestern and Southern League baseball teams (1882-1888); publisher (1881-1892); secretary and treasurer (188-1889), president (1889-1890), Middle States Baseball League; press agent, Bradenburgh’s Dime Museum, Philadelphia (1891-1910s); partner, Prudential Loan Society; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1925 term; reelected to the House to serve 2 consecutive terms thereafter; not a candidate for reelection to the House for 1931 term; died, September 18, 1934 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, West Laurel Hill Cemetery, Bala Cynwyd, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
