SWARTZ, Joshua William, a Representative from Dauphin County; born in Lower Swatara Township, Dauphin County, Pa., June 9, 1867; attended, Lebanon Valley College (1887-1888); attended, Williamsport Commercial School (1888); graduated, Dickinson School of Law (now Penn State Dickinson Law), 1892; carpenter and stair builder (4 years); lawyer; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representative for the 1915 and 1917 sessions; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1918); elected, United States Congress (1925-1927); died, May 27, 1959 in Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania; interred, Paxtang Cemetery, Paxtang, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.
