WRIGHT, James L., Jr., a Representative from Bucks County; born, March 10, 1925 in New York City, New York County, NY; attended, All Hallows Institute; B.S.E., industrial engineering, University of Michigan, 1951; second lieutenant, United States Army; captain, United States Air Force (Air Medal with cluster, 2 Battle Stars recipient); industrial engineer; supervisor, Middletown Township (1962-1965, chair, 1964); Assistant County Chair and Republican Committee member (1963-1964); vice chair, Lower Bucks County Regional Cooperation Council (1964-1965); member, Bucks County Executive Committee; County Campaign Manager, Scranton for Governor; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1965 term and served 12 consecutive terms thereafter; appointed, Pennsylvania Commission on Interstate Cooperation (1979-1980); appointed, Governor’s Energy Council (1981-1982); appointed, Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission (1981-1990); appointed, Joint Legislative Air and Water Pollution Control and Conservation Committee (1987-1990); unsuccessful candidate, United States Congress (1976); died while in office, October 16, 1990 in Bucks County, Pennsylvania; interred, Arlington National Cemetery, city of Arlington, Arlington County, Virginia.
