SHUMAKER, Harvey Hayes, a Representative from Somerset County; born, February 9, 1877 in Wellersburg, Somerset County, Pa.; teacher (4 years); clerk and accountant, Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Company (12 years); assistant cashier and cashier, First National Bank, Rockwood (14 years); member, board of education, Rockwood (20 years); chair, Four Minute Men Organization (World War I); chair, War Work Committee (World War I); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1926; not a candidate for reelection in the House in the 1928 General election; died, September 6, 1951 in East Hampton, Long Island, New York; interred, Hyndman Cemetery, Hyndman, Bedford County, Pennsylvania.
