SEMMENS, William Henry, a Representative from Allegheny County; born, June 4, 1854 in Penzance, Cornwall, England; educated in the public schools of Pittsburgh; coal miner; employed, mills; employed, general merchandise business; engaged in real estate; elected, burgess, Turtle Creek; president, National Bank of Turtle Creek; president, Turtle Creek Savings & Trust Company; secretary and treasurer, East Pittsburgh Construction Company and Penn Avenue Investment Company; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1913 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1914); elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1915-1916); foreman, Westinghouse Machine Company; died, July 18, 1925 in the city of Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California; interred, Grandview Cemetery, North Versailles, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
