NORTON, William C., a Representative from Wayne County; born in Clinton, Wayne County, Pa., October 10, 1852; graduated, Delaware Literary Institute, Franklin, NY; farmer; cattle breeder; member, Pennsylvania State Board of Agriculture; town clerk, Clinton; overseer of the poor, Clinton; elected, treasurer, Wayne County (1893-1896); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1898 and 1902; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1900, 1904); elected, president, Pennsylvania Live Stock Association (1906-1916); died, September 3, 1928 in Tennessee; interred, Clinton Center Cemetery, Clinton Township, Wayne County, Pennsylvania.
