MORRISON, William Leverett, a Representative from Erie County; born, June 15, 1869 in the city of Erie, Erie County, Pa.; graduated, Peekskill Military Academy, 1887; organized, Pennsylvania’s naval forces, Erie (1910); lieutenant commander, United States Naval Reserves (1911-1923; commander, "U.S.S. Wolverine," 1912-1917, 1918-1923; first lieutenant, "U.S.S. Utah," 1917-1918, World War I); member, Pennsylvania State Park and Harbor Commission; superintendent, Presque Isle State Park; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1922 and 1924; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1926); unsuccessful campaign, mayor, the city of Erie (1923); president, Flagship Niagara Commission; died, March 15, 1956 in the city of Erie, Erie County, Pennsylvania; interred, Erie Cemetery, the city of Erie, Erie County, Pennsylvania.
