MITCHELL, Arthur Warren, a Representative from Erie County; born, December 2, 1878 in Bradford, McKean County, Pa.; attended, DeVeaux School, Niagara Falls, NY; attended, Pennsylvania State (University) College; LL.B., Dickinson School of Law (now Penn State Dickinson Law), 1901; hon. Doctor of Laws, Stetson University, 1954; lawyer; legal department, Standard Oil Company, WV (1901-1908); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1912; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1914); organizer and treasurer, Erie Bold & Nut Company; elected, delegate, Constitutional Convention (1921); director, Marine National Bank of Erie; director, Community Savings & Loan Company; member, board of trustees, Pennsylvania State (University) College; unsuccessful campaign, State Senate (1927); member, board of governance, Pennsylvania Bar Association (1929-1932); died, April 28, 1962 in DeLand, Volusia County, Florida; interred, Oakdale Cemetery, DeLand, Volusia County, Florida.
