MILLER, Dr. William Colvin, a Representative from Bedford County; born, January 3, 1868 in Neosho, Newton County, Mo.; attended, Lafayette College (2 years); attended, medicine, University of Virginia (1 year); M.D., University Medical College, New York City, 1888; major, Medical Corps, United States Army (World War I); physician; school director (2 terms); surgeon, Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Company; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1898 and 1900; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1902); elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1902-1910); manager, Pathescope Motion Picture Company, Harrisburg; special inspector of boards of health, Pennsylvania Department of Health (1911-1914); director, Bureau of Public Health Education, Pennsylvania Department of Health (1914-1925); president and general manager, Miller Advertising Corporation (1925-1927); supervisor of state clinics, Pennsylvania Department of Health (1927-1930); died, April 16, 1930 in Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania; interred, Schellsburg Cemetery, Schellsburg, Bedford County, Pennsylvania.
