DAVIES, John Samuel, a Representative from Berks and Lebanon Counties; born in Springmont, Berks County, Pa., September 4, 1926; graduated, Wilson High School; A.B., political science, Gettysburg College; attended, Kutztown State Teachers College (now Kutztown University of Pennsylvania); served, "U.S.S. Pillsbury" (1945-1946),"U.S.S. Hilbert" (1946), United States Navy (1944-1946, World War II); teacher (20 years); Republican Committeeman; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to the 1975 term and served 8 consecutive terms thereafter; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1992); died, March 29, 2010 in Wyomissing, Berks County, Pennsylvania; interred, Sinking Spring Cemetery, Sinking Spring, Berks County, Pennsylvania.
