McKEAN, Arthur, a Representative from Beaver County; born, Lower Burrell Township, Westmoreland County, Pa. on March 13, 1882; B.S., Geneva College, 1904; attended, law, Western University of Pennsylvania (now University of Pittsburgh); football head coach, Geneva College (1905-1911); teacher, New Brighton High School (1907); elected, justice of the peace, College Hill; elected, school director, College Hill; attorney (1909-1957); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat in 1910; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1912); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania State Senate (1912); postmaster, United States Postal Service, Beaver County; unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania Auditor General (1920); federal prohibition director for Pennsylvania, Bureau of Internal Revenue, United States Department of Treasury (1920-1921); unsuccessful campaign, mayor, Orlando, Fl. (1930); municipal judge, Orlando, Fl.; died, January 7, 1957 in New Kensington, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania; interred, Plum Creek Cemetery, Plum, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
