McCORD, Ira D., a Representative from Chester County; born in Reading, Berks County, Pa., October 7, 1875; graduated, West Chester Normal School (now West Chester University of Pennsylvania), 1897; principal, West Nantmeal High School; superintendent and principal, Chester Springs Soldiers’ Orphan School; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1907 and 1909 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1911 term; journal clerk, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1919-1920); died, July 21, 1930 in Elverson, Chester County, Pennsylvania; interred, Elverson Methodist Cemetery, Elverson, Chester County, Pennsylvania.
