McARDLE, Joseph H, a Representative from Philadelphia County, born, December 7, 1868 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa.; graduated, Catholic High School; attended, LaSalle College (now LaSalle University); undertaker; clerk, Philadelphia & Reading Railway Company; leader, 16th Ward Republican Committee (18 years); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1910; reelected to the House to serve 3 more consecutive terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1918); tipstaff, Municipal Court, Philadelphia (1921-1933); chief, Bureau of Weights and Measures, Philadelphia (1934); assistant custodian of voting machines, commissioners office, Philadelphia County (1935-1938); died, October 23, 1938 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon, Delaware County, Pennsylvania.
